Skanska Awarded Medical Facility Contract in Evansville

Indiana University will expand its School of Medicine-Evansville campus to the new facility.
Evansville, Ind.—The Multi-Institutional Academic Health Science and Research Center in Evansville is finally underway. This comes as a result of Evansville HealthRealty recently awarding the construction contract for the
healthcare project to
Skanska USA Civil. Valued at roughly $41 million, the contract will be included in the developer’s order bookings for the year’s second quarter. The estimated economic impact of the project stands at $350 million by the year 2025, and the total financial package approved by local authorities stands at $52 million.
Located in downtown Evansville, the four-story facility is slated to offer roughly 140,000 square feet of space. Once completed, the construction will feature a 25,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art simulation center, while other capabilities will include a dental clinic, amphitheater, clinical research area, teaching rooms, offices and surface parking…
