ULI Announces Inaugural Award Winners in NYC
ByUrban Land Institute held its Inaugural Award Gala at Gotham Hall in Manhattan to honor its seven winners for excellence in New York-based development.
New York—On the corner of 36th street and Broadway in New York sits the imposing Gotham Hall, a decadent and monumental space built between 1922 and 1924 as the Greenwich Savings Bank building, but what is now a highly sought-after event space. There was not a more fitting backdrop for the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) first gala than Gotham Hall, a still-standing tribute to the golden age of New York architecture, and a prime example of successful adaptive reuse.
At the March 10 event, seven New York-based winners in six categories were presented with awards for excellence in development for projects that represent ULI’s commitment to sustainability, innovation and responsible land use. “Where New York real estate goes, the world follows, and these extraordinary projects reflect the future of the industry,” said ULI New York Chairman Robert Lieber, “We are proud to help drive the conversation around sustainable development by recognizing leaders in our field who are changing the game and doing it right.”…
