Alliant Energy Corp. Acquires 300MW Wind Project in Iowa

Apex Clean Energy sold its Upland Prairie Wind project to Interstate Power and Light Co., a subsidiary of Alliant Energy Corp. The 300-megawatt project occupies 30,000 acres in the northwest Iowa counties of Clay and Dickinson, and is slated for completion in 2018.
The Upland Prairie Wind project will consist of 100 to 150 slow-spinning wind turbines that will produce enough electricity to power nearly 102,000 U.S. homes. It is estimated that hundreds of local jobs will be created during construction and upon completion up to 15 full-time permanent jobs will be available for operations and maintenance.
