JPMorgan Hires Banker for Private Financing
ByJPMorgan Chase has hired a senior banker to lead the firm’s effort to provide private financing for companies like hot Silicon Valley start-ups, the bank announced in an internal memorandum on Monday.
The firm has poached Keith Canton, who will become head of private capital markets with an emphasis on so-called equity private placements when he joins the firm in August.
Private financing has become an increasingly prominent business, as investors ranging from hedge funds to mutual funds look to pour money into private companies.
