ByThe Affordable Care Act, which is five years old and in its second year of providing subsidized private coverage on government marketplaces, is making it easier for Americans to pay their medical bills.
But when it comes to eliminating their debts to healthcare providers and paying their share of co-payments and deductibles, Americans still have problems, several different studies out in the last week show.
The Urban Institute issued briefs showing the health law has taken a load off of family budgets with 9.4 million fewer families “having problems paying medical bills,” the report shows.
