Skanska to Build DC Water’s New HQ

Washington—Construction powerhouse Skanska recently announced it has signed a $60 million contract with the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority for the organization’s new administrative base close to Forest City’s mammoth redevelopment project.
The new headquarters will be built over DC Water’s pumping station at 125 O St. SE, immediately east of Nationals Park and adjacent to the Anacostia River. The approximately 160,000-square-foot building, which was designed to achieve LEED Platinum certification, will house roughly 350 employees. The project is planned to break ground later this year and is slated for completion by December 2017. Skanska will maintain the O Street pumping station and incorporate the existing structure within the redevelopment project…
